Night of Peteris Vasks

Dear friends!
Kind regards to all of you from Latvia — the distant country in the north, by the Baltic Sea. The concert of my music in Iran — that is truly an exceptional event in my composer’s life. I am grateful to Navid Gohari and all the musicians who have had an interest in my music and are now willing to introduce it to the people in Iran.
I compose music here and now — in this particular time and the world we all share.  In my music you can hear both pain and sadness, even tragedy but over all I want to tell about the greatest power in the world — Love. With gentleness, with passion — but always I give all of myself to music.
I will be happy if my music resonates in your hearts.

About/
Nilper Orchestra was founded by Navid Gohari in 2004 for performing Contemporary Classical Music. The Orchestra’s continuous aspiration is to perform art music of both Iranian and international contemporary composers while, as the members of the orchestra, bringing together talented performers and rising artists living and working in Iran. Since its establishment, the orchestra has performed regularly in seasonal programming, and in its 13th year of activity, it has performed 28 full concerts, performing 58 works in the repertoire of contemporary music, 23 world or national premieres, and has hosted 10 soloists. Since 2008, Ehsan Tarokh has been responsible for the orchestra’s managerial activities. Nilper is focused on introducing and performing the rare repertoire of high quality, observing international rules of Copyright and interaction with publishing houses, and invitation and hosting of established artists and soloists from around the world.
